TROPICAL WEATHER SECTION
Animations - 11

2009 Named Storms:
Ana, Bill, Claudette, Danny, Erika, Fred, Grace, Henri, Ida, Joaquin, Kate, Larry, Mindy, Nicholas, Odette, Peter, Rose, Sam, Teresa, Victor, Wanda

IN SIMPLE TERMS OVERVIEW:---

Areas of Interest (AOI)

3 AOI
AOI#1 is likely to become a SubTropical system over the next 72hrs. Don't know that it will get a name but, it will not be a threat to the ConUs! It is a MidLevel spin that is showing some sign of Tropical Development. It does have Vorticity at 850mb and showing some Convergence and Divergence. Shear is actually low in its immediate area but, is surrounded by much higher shear in all directions. This has a low chance of becoming a SubTropical Storm in 72hrs with no worries to the ConUs as it moves out to sea!

AOI#2 is located near South America just before the Islands. This blob of convection should move to the NW into the Caribbean where high shear is located. I don't see this being a threat at all because of high Shear.

AOI #3 is located in the Central Atlantic and is an AOI to the NHC also. This AOI should move to the NW. It does have a chance at slow development during the next 48hrs as shear is not too bad but, will likley encounter very hostile shear in 72hrs. This does have a chance of slow development during the next 48hrs as it moves NW and eventually out to sea.

IN SIMPLE TERMS:---
This is truely the Year of Shear. Wow, wouldn't it be nice to bottle this up for next year and beyond. I don't see anything in the coming over the next 7 days as models show nothing forming during that time. Have a peaceful 7 days, as MJO does return and some action could be coming in about 10-14 days as things could change for some local born systems in the Caribbean and GOM!

IN SIMPLE TERMS OTHER INTEREST:---
Nothing of Interest in the next 48hrs!

Remember the National Hurricane Center are the Professionals and release complete updates at 11 and 5 on the hour and partial updates at 2 and 8 on the hour if needed. Also, the NHC identifies the Tropical Season from JUNE 1st THRU NOVEMBER 30th
