Stupid old AccuWeather's stupid old website has this tidbit today...
This Day In Weather History: Burlington, NJ (1925) Large amount of hail fell and remained on the ground for 3 days.
I say "No effin' way." It's simply not possible for hail to sit on the ground...outside...in South Jersey for three days! It's like saying someone dumped ice cubes outside on July 29, 1925 and they didn't melt until August 1! That isn't even possible inside an air conditioned house. Heck, I doubt ice could last three days in the refrigerator of an air conditioned house! Have you ever been in Burlington, NJ? I have. It's not a particularly cool place.
Maybe AccuWeather read this on the internet somewhere and just assumed it was true.
