Power Back on in Lewes,DE
Posted: (February 06, 2010 06:47 am)

Power has been restored here in Lewes,de and has been on for 40 mins. It is still snowing now and it's 33.3° ↓.
I see that the low has just went off the coast.

Just heard a report: My area has been out of power for 6 hours and effected 26,000 people.

Power is still out from Millsboro to Indian River,de. I checked all of the traffic cams and it is just black, the cams aren't reporting.

Current Conditions:
Atlantic moisture is steadily pouring in to my area right now and conditions will get worse as temps drop and the snow gets heavier. This snow is soooooo wet and heavy that it will likely freeze and turn into a block of ice (or hard snow) tonight, as temps will drop well into the teens.

At the beach, the winds are sustained at 38mph with gusts to 45mph. At 4:35am, the winds were sustained at 49mph, with gusts to 60mph... and this is from an official NWS weatherstation at the beach in Lewes.
You can follow the conditions at the beach here:

I hope the power doesn't go back out...

Troy, Glad to Hear That You're Back In Business

I saw your post last night. Power outage is what I feared the most (more for others than for myself, as I have a wood stove). Of course, I'd be really ticked if I lost power, since I maintain websites and go nuts when I don't have the Internet available.

We have 13.2 inches here in Vineland and the wind is picking up. Lost at least one tree overnight because the wind didn't come as soon as hoped. It's a winter wonderland out there!
