I am the CEO and co-founder of Myweatherlive.com and robguarino.com. My past work history includes working in NYC (CBS), Syracuse NY (NBC), Indianapolis, IN (NBC) and most recently the Chief Meteorologist in Philadelphia, PA (FOX).
I am past President of the Philadelphia-NJ AMS Chapter, and am currently a member of the AMS and NWA. I have won several Emmy awards for outstanding broadcasting in the Mid-Atlantic region, 2 Associated Press awards (One in NY for Blizzard '93 Coverage) the other in Pennsylvania (Storm Coverage). My highest honor was back in 2004 when I was awarded the "NATIONAL BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR" by the National Weather Association.
I love severe weather, blizzards and hurricanes. I have seen two tornadoes in person (Syracuse and Indy) and have covered over a dozen hurricanes for the local and national networks. My battle list includes, Lili (LA), Georges (MS), Opal (FL), Bonnie (NC), Bertha(NC), Charley, Bob, Isabel, Frances, Gloria, Ivan, Felix, Floyd and more
I am a HIGH WIND junkie ! I have been in two hurricanes with gusts over 115mph, and got to stand in the wind tunnel at the FAA test site in Atlantic City NJ. There I took on winds of about 120mph before it got a little out of hand, uh.....being roped down !
My vision has always been to create a site for all weather fans, even ones not so familiar with computer models and weather talk. Most of the features on this site will be for the junkie as well as the casual user. We would love to hear your ideas about the site and anyway we can improve it for you. This next year will be a growing year for us so pop often and see all the upgrades and changes along the way.
"More than a forecast" is the slogan here. We give you more than just a zip code forecast. Ask or live meteorologists in the chat room about severe weather. Planning an event, write a blog or enter a forum or simply as a meteorologist LIVE.
The site is here to educate you on how we make a forecast and how YOU can make a forecast. We will be traveling to many grade schools and colleges this next year so look for us in a town near you !
Thanks again for coming to the site and enjoy !
