Thats exactly why they move it too far North, its because of the strength! I suspect slower development if it does develop, thus a more WNW track.
Hmm

Maybe the gfdl and hwrf strengthen this thing to fast? resulting in a more NW track on those models? i would think development would be slower than those. I think the gfs and euro are the models to watch for track trends.

Oh yes definitely. But it still needs to break its hold on the ITCZ the next 24 to 48 hours and get some spin going. Not a slam dunk just yet. But conditions arent all that bad out ahead of this Invest, at least until it gets closer to the islands.

18Z GFS..http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/carib/gfs/18/index_slp_mu_loop.shtml>
Fun loop to watch the eventual development of Invest 90L according to the GFS. A long way off, but interesting none the less.

Wouldnt the WNW track eventually place 90L out of the ITCZ? The new 18z gfs shows a hurricane making landfall in the carolinas so thats pretty bullish. And the first runs of the HWRF are bullish also, making future colin a hurricane within 5-6 days.
