Well I hope you all are happy... Im officially done with Day 7 working on this storm...I will have a few hours of super bowl fun..and then it's back in the weather office at 3am..for yet another storm.
Look, were obvously in a 50-100 year type of pattern that will just continue to pump these storms our way. Storm number two has the energy and lift that this weekends storm has with a track that pushes the heaviest snows further up to you guys who are still scratching your heads saying: "what snow?"
This is what you need to get these snow events. This appears to me like a double phasers.. You have a piece of energy riding out through the ohio valley along with your cold air supply while you have a deep southern low along a southern jet storm. With the pattern being so "blocky" (a Joe Cioffi NYC met term) you get these storms to gain latitude and explode.

***AN ocean test. I did a live shot much of saturday in Asbury Park, NJ. I took my shoes off and stood in the ocean for a little.. IT'S NOT THAT FREAKING COLD! ... A few blogs back i talked about that. There is enough energy on the gulf stream to allow for these storms to go to a sub 980 type system
OK that's all for now.. Time to watch the COLTS win! .. Details tomorrow morning
