Oregon could have an interesting season but a few things have to go the right way to get snow is you want that kind of winter. El Nino may show up late season on the weak side or stay neutral the entire run, we'll know more in a month or two.
The timing is key this entire winter with the cold outbreaks and additional moisture from the south that could bring 1-3 snow events in the lower elevations of the bigger cities of Portland and Eugene.
So combining the two jets is where we need to be come this winter if you like snow and ice. The Southern jet may push north at times and that could bring a decent snowstorm to the state.
Take a look at the chart below and see a slight trend to the El Nino side so yeah it's early in the game but things will change for sure.
