An upper level low lifting towards New England today will continue to drive weak disturbances through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.  Scattered showers capable of heavy downpours at times will linger through this afternoon followed by clearing skies tonight.  Winds will slowly back to the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the coast for highs.

High pressure will take hold by tonight with clearing skies and winds from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Scattered cloud cover can be expected through Friday with winds becoming light and variable.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20′s over the interior and lower to mid 30′s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the coast.

High pressure will remain in control Saturday on through Tuesday with tranquil weather conditions expected along with temperatures averaging near to slightly below normal.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid 20′s to lower 30′s for lows and mid to upper 40′s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday and Monday will be slightly cooler with lows in the mid to upper 20′s and highs in the lower to mid 40′s.  Temperatures will rebound on Tuesday with lows in the upper 20′s to lower 30′s and highs in the mid 40′s to lower 50′s.

An area of low pressure off the Virginia coast will produce a few showers, especially over southern New Jersey, on Wednesday.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30′s for lows and mid 40′s to lower 50′s for highs.
