As a new coastal low takes control just east of the New Jersey coast this morning, scattered showers will linger throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.  Along with the scattered showers, the winds will remain strong and back from the east to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts over 40 mph at times.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30′s to mid 40′s over the interior, the upper 40′s to mid 50′s over the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 50′s over the Philadelphia metropolitan area and New Jersey coast.

High pressure will gradually take hold tonight with clearing skies with winds from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Scattered clouds can be expected through tomorrow with a threat for a few isolated to widely scattered rain and snow showers.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20′s to mid 30′s for lows and mid 40′s to lower 50′s for highs.

High pressure will remain in control Friday night on through Tuesday with tranquil weather conditions and temperatures near normal through the period.  Dry conditions can be expected with broken cloud cover.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 20′s for lows and mid 30′s to lower 40′s for highs.
