The first of many weak low pressure systems will pass to the south and southeast of New Jersey today with periods of light snow and snow showers throughout the region.  The bulk of snow showers will be focused over southeastern Pennsylvania, southern and central New Jersey, and portions of New York City and Long Island.  General rule, the closer you are to the Atlantic Ocean, the better chance you’ll see some snowfall with this passing low pressure system.  Accumulations will range from just a coating to as much as 2 inches of snow.  Temperatures will struggle in the the upper 20′s to lower 30′s over the interior and lower to mid 30′s along the coast.

Tranquil yet chilly conditions can be expected tonight on through tomorrow with scattered cloud cover.  Scattered cloud cover can be expected with winds from the west and northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 10′s over the interior and mid to upper 10′s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20′s over the interior and upper 20′s to lower 30′s along the coast.

Another passing area of low pressure will bring the threat for snow showers and light snow to the region on Sunday.  Accumulations of  a dusting to as much as three inches can be expected with the best potential for accumulation along the coast, basically from the Delaware River on east.  Temperatures will remain cold with lows in the upper 10′s to mid 20′s and highs in the lower to mid 30′s over the interior and mid to upper 30′s along the coast.

A series of additional disturbances will move through the region Monday through Thursday with a threat for snow showers each day.  Temperatures will remain near to below normal as the cold air mass is reenforced with each passing disturbance.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10′s to mid 20′s for lows and upper 20′s to mid 30′s for highs.
