As a disturbance approaches from the Ohio River Valley this morning on the heels of warm air invading the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas, showers will develop throughout the region this morning.

Areas of freezing rain have developed over portions of eastern Pennsylvania this morning as rain pushes into the colder areas of eastern Pennsylvania.  As warmer air invades from the southwest, precipitation will change over to all rain and expand into much of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas for this afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30's to lower 40's over the interior and lower to mid 40's along the coast.

Periods of showers can be expected tonight on through Monday as waves of disturbances pass through the northern Mid Atlantic.  Warm air will flood the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas with temperatures remaining above normal through the forecast period.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows tonight and rebound into the mid to upper 50's for highs tomorrow.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40's for lows and mid 50's to lower 60's for highs through Monday.

A powerful cold front will move through the region on Tuesday with periods of heavy rain in the morning followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will crash through the 40's and into the 30's by Tuesday afternoon.

High pressure will be in compete control for Wednesday and Thursday with scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.
