Cant believe this site is so dead... Euro just showed a 3-6 type event for philly to qtown and a 6-12 for the valley and pocono's yet, everyone is gone...
Every storm modeled this year in the 2-5 day window has trended colder and stronger with the low, so what is stopping everyone from thinking this storm wont do that as well, especially with the King leading the way... literally 2-3 degrees turns this into easily the best storm this year atleast for philly and NW of 95... The REX block will not break down as quickly as some models show and i feel like this will take a path similar to last nights euro...now all of a sudden the GFS has a nice 1028 H popping up at hr 96 in eastern canada.... and even if your not excited about this storm there are 2 more potential events on its heal, easily IMO the best chances this whole winter...I know thats not saying much but its somthing... TELE's are there... one is gonna hit everyone for atleast 4-8+ to end this miserable winter...
I can tell you out here in the Blue Marsh area outside of Wernersville everything got covered in snow. They had to send the salt trucks out here, debating now if I should shovel my driveway off before the temps drop back into the 20s overnight tonight.
You may be too close to the city it's always warmer in Reading, I can go from Reading a lot with one of these situations like today and there be no snow on the ground there and come home to a completely covered roads out here.
honestly out of the small sampling we have had i am NOT impressed with the new CMC...if the Euro follows though with what it showed last night on the OP run and Ensembles im going with that since this is its money range...GFS/CMC wont fully catch on till thursday 12z or friday 0z.....typical of how this winter hasplayed out...Philly will be rough for accum snows again, but i think from q-town north has a legit shot at the biggest snows of the year
I will consider the 23/24/25 storm when things actually come around. In the current runs, it is just way too warm. 540 line is North of Allentown on the 12zGFS run.
I am with you looking down the pipeline though. I'm open to anything that might surprise us.
