Doing things over and over and over again with the same result. The mighty euro shows a big hit and thats fine but that is not going to happen .First forecast here Philly coating to TWO inches Thursday night into Friday morning.Heavy rain for the city with RISING temps not dropping!
pete I was just trying to point out that if things go the way they have so far this year in the Philly area will will probably be let down again.
The guys on here are great but what I see as with other potential storms this is a lot of could be s if this happens if that happens etc. rather then hey we are getting a snowstorm period,no maybes no if that happens etc.
The clippers have been unusual but the net effect ,at least in my area has been negligible at best and mostly during the night.
There is no question that anything is possible in Feb and even March and Im hoping we get something before we have to wait 300 more days for any chances.
@ Rich cinaglia - I actually disagree about this years' pattern meaning no big storm. We've had clipper after clipper, I've never seen anything quite like it - and the last time I remember many "nuisance snows" like this was 2011, and we got nailed mid-February. Not saying it's gonna happen this storm, but if the saying "it'll snow where it wants to snow" holds true, then it could give a surprise thump round here.. I've seen stranger things happen. But what do I know? Could be all rain. :)
We are at 48 hrs. so the throw this run out cause it doesn't phase should not be used anymore. Still might play catchup to the storm idea through the 0z but I want to see some storm on this run
well - given the pattern, I can't say you are way off in your thinking. N&W are in much better shape. Some differences this time with the Canadian high - so today is big.
It's like golf - we always tee off thinking "today's the day I shoot par" - and usually end up at the 19th hole drinking our woes away and laughing at the ugly shots! And we keep going back for more!
Forgetting the models for a minute ,I think the way this winter has gone so far i think you have to be pessimistic about any significant snow for Philly .This would be the final insult to have days of cold with all these insignificant underachieving clippers ,finally get a shot at a significant storm and wind up with mostly rain.
As much as i like to see a nice snowstorm ,I would particularly like to see one for the guys who depend on snow for their livelihood.who have ,so far, been unable to make any money.
