Another wave of snow is rolling through the region in a few hours with some slippery roads and sidewalks. It's not a big storm and we'll see a 1-3" for most areas. We will watch for a burst of snow from west to east and if you get caught in the band you could see up to 3".
7:15pm RADAR. It will start to fill in soon over the Lower Susquehanna Valley south to Baltimore and Washington.
The radar will be watched as the snow starts to now make it over the mountains.
WHAT: Light Snow
WHEN: 11pm to 8am
TOTAL: 1-3" (upgraded)
WHERE: PA MD NJ DE NY
ALERTS: We may see a Winter Weather Advisory
I am basically adding about a 1/2" to the numbers on the map above to each of the totals esp. in Philly and South Jersey
I suggest if you live in the Philly area, don't look at Fridays storm, possible two feet of snow for Boston, while we row our boats and wear rain suits in a glorious cold rain:(
Well it's pretty much over. It tried to back fill but it just didnt happen. That's pretty much it for the snow for at least a week or 2. Not much time left in winter. Next week will be warm..from there is anyone's guess. I'm at about 4" total for this winter. 6" in the last 2 years.
Still snowing here in Washington Township, but just a coatinf as usual.
Amazing to think all winter haven't had 3 inches of snow combined, yet the state is probably getting low on salt from the amount of times they had to go out salting. Even in 09/10 & 10/11 the streets didn't get covered this many times.
The only thing that's going to give us any more precip would be a north track in the next 30-45 minutes before the rest of the storm moves off the coast. Anything else I think is a long shot
its not impossible and there is a chance you don't need artic air to get snow .....will see but the way winter has been so far odds are not in our favor
new radar images show a shiftinng south on a snow band in north pa and also somehow strengthining so its something to watch in the next few hours but anything other than that nothing is expecting to happen unless a new band of snow forms when the low pressure passes but that is unlikly to happen so the storm may not be over yet.(some future radars are hinting this)
Heat I think we might have one chance the rest of the way maybe.....but some good mets went over some GREAT scenarios for us and it was impossible that we would get snow from this even from a perfect track. There is just no real cold air in place.
Its about 90 to 96hrs out some changes hopefully for the best can happen. Lets see whag the other models say about this. Hopefully trends go in our favour
