This is absolutely heart breaking as a snow lover. I didnt think this winter would get worse... But it just did get about 10 times worse with this storm missing us. Just ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
Instead of saying this "NJ DE MD DC VA", why not just say "EVERYWHERE AROUND PHILLY", then you could say "Hey Philly area folks! Go outside, then look North, South, East, and West. All of those areas will have snow, but you get nothing. Maybe next week you'll get lucky - unless it gets shoved out to sea and then maybe you'll see flurries. Enjoy the cold!"
THIRD... There is no north trend. The event is less than 24 hours away and there is no north trend. I know a bunch of WEENIES in other weather forums keep arguing or insisting that there is but really there isnt. YES ... snow amounts are increasing over Central and Northn central Virginia but that does NOT mean the Low is coming UP the coast and heavy snow is coming north to Philly New York City or Boston . In fact as you can see .. The GFS and the NAM show the snow line cuts off right over Washington, DC and it does not move any further north. In fact there is not a single instance of Low pressure tracking south and east of Cape Hatteras heading ENE out to sea yet still bringing significant snow to Philadelphia New York City or Boston . http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/gfs/12zgfssnowdepth048.gif
Rob, how far into Virginia are you expecting snow? I am particularly interested in the area West of I81 down to about Harrisonburg, VA. Our family favorite ski resort at Bryce Mountain VA was hurt pretty badly by the 70+ temps last weekend. Let it snow!
The thing is rob. Those that missed out earlier still don't get snow here. The beach and these areas had snow in November. Philly is the only area that hasn't seen snow all year. Yet again it's missing the EXACT same area. It's either 20 miles north or 20 miles south. I've never seen this before ever in the 15 years following snow around here!!
