Mostly cloudy out now. Don't expect temps to fall much more. 35 here... It may drop to 33-34.. Hopefully dew point stays low before precip moves in but that's at 25 right now so already getting close to being a problem. Forecasted temp at 9 pm is 31.. It's 35 at 8:33.
I dunno I just don't like radar trends right now to bring us snow. Need those precip to move east then north east up the coast. It's heading right for us should fire warm air up the coast. Well see.. But I still think Philly south east is all rain.
Marcus philly is right on the edge of the mix line honestly it might mix with rain at times but shouldn't affect accumulations that much philly is on the cusp of getting 3-5 inches. One slight movement and philly has a 3-5 inch storm on there hands. I live in Jenkintown and its not that far from philly but a few miles can make a huge difference in snowfall
Jbat has the bingo...this isn't a strong storm. The precip will keep the column cooler without strong WAA. It may change to rain when the precip gets very light or turns to drizzle. Actually, the 00z NAM starts running at 8:45.
Mt Holly has a really good afternoon disco up on their website on why they expect all snow for most of their CWA including Philly. Basically with the weaker system throwing up less intense WAA and the column being cooled by the precip they feel Philly is mainly snow.
I agree with twc's totals. I honestly don't think it is going to rain much around the philly area. Again 3-5 with scattered 6 inches around the are especially north of the philly area
