WOW Amazing storm is right! As a vivid weather follower you don't hear the word "derecho" very often. I actually only have heard the word used once or twice during a actual storm. While trying to fall asleep Friday night, I did notice that the lighting strikes were like a science fiction movie. Every second, a FLASH of light!

In addition my weather friend Ron is driving on down to his cottage in Cape Coral Florida he is reporting significant damage from Virginia to the South Carolina Georgia border along I-95 that area was blasted yesterday.

Just a matter of time until the atmosphere and pattern recharge for further damaging storms.

Hey Rob Great Stuff and thanks for putting it together.

Umm that pic of the derecho in its beginning looked like it had a cool puddle of air with it.

Question:

Was there a cold puddle of air with this system as it moved along the clouds in that picture sure looked as if there was some cooling aloft?
