The outlook for this summer will be above average temps and near to above rainfall with numerous storms the second half of the summer. Philadelphia will have a shot at a TOP 20 hottest summer ever.
EL NINO...LA NINA...or LA NOTHING?
The thinking for Philly is a NEUTRAL trend through summmer with a lean toward a weak El Nino toward October of this year.
This map is from the CPC (Climate Prediction Center) and I agree with the idea of above normal temps for most of the east coast.
Rainfall for a summer is always tough to predict simply due to the nature of hit or miss storms but I think we'll see ample thunderstorms in late July and August to bring the seasonal total to above normal.

Oh, not another hot scorcher of a Summer! Summers in NYC are brutal with high humidity. Then we have Con Edison desperately trying to keep the grid from failing so we can keep the air conditioners humming. I HATE Summer and its about to get hotter earlier and last longer. Bummer! Temps in the low 70's would make for a great summer. However, with climate change in full swing, things seem to be getting warmer :(
Omg!!! Have mercy! This is the most depressing news I've heard in the last six months. I sincerely hope this forecast is wrong and we end up having a very nice and mild summer, with temps in the lower 70's, We can't take another horrendously hot summer like 2012's. (:-
