Winter is not going to go out quietly this year so get ready to track some storms from the Southwest to Northeast with a few in the Midwest now through the first week of March.
The December 2009 storm was crazy, as I got to teach it to my students as it was unfolding...but the 96 blizzard will always be a most memorable moment for me.
Sgt - you brought up the one bad memory i have of 1996 - the loss to stinking Dallas!!!! I was in such a great mood with the storm I didn't care - I kept thinking - man - glad they're playing in Dallas! I remember the team couldn't get home for 4-5 days after the game.
JAn 7 1996, My first born son was to be Christened and named after my father who was fighting health issues. It was my father and brothers birthday. Party set for 50 people. We had to cancel. But all was not lost. We had just purcahsed a new home and invited all the neighbors over for a football party. Eagles played Dallas and lost but the party lasted until 2 AM. Some couldn't walk home and slept over. We still talk about it everytime we get together with or friends. Son was Christened two weeks later. 40 inches of snow and 8 foot drifts. I was younger then and even shoveling was fun.
I agree...January '96. My husband bought my engagement ring that weekend. He said that #&!! would freeze over when he decided to get married, and well, it almost did that weekend!
Rob...when you say Upper Bucks....does that include Doylestown? Doylestown is always in the in-between forecast areas of Philly/Lower Bucks and Upper Bucks/Lehigh Valley. Technically, Doylestown is in Central Bucks, but only 8 miles or so southeast of Quakertown.
