Hi everyone. I am a new member. Not a meteorologist but a lifelong enthusiast. I am curious of all the longrange winter forecasting parameters and what they are pointing toward. I have hjeard the NAO is the main one for eastern U.S. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you
The NAO is a big player this year it has been now for 2 months. It's the traffic cop that decides how much cold air gets locked in and it can slow down a storm track to allow for nor'easters to come up the coast
Hey there are many blogs all over this site for winter forecasts that go into depth with each parameter for forecasting. Look around you'll find em they are easy to follow for an average weather enthusiast.
NAO is a huge factor, but there are many many other deciding factors.
