12Z GFS model run takes a major step towards the Euro ie a big storm much closer to the Northeast US coast. The storm moves from Cape Hatteras, NC early Friday (below #1) to off the southern New England coast by late Friday night (below #2).
Looking like a southern New England special (e.g. Boston) for massive amounts of heavy snow!NYC and Long Island are still in the game for possibly a mixture changing to significant accumulating snow. Philly area on the edge between rain, ice and/or snow which could become accumulating snow on the back end.
A very crucial player to the whole scenario is a strong, cold high pressure system to the north (SE Canada). That alone is a cause for concern with respect to ice and/or snow as far south as the interior Mid-Atlantic. Total precipitable water amounts for the storm on bottom map. Stay tuned.
RI gets pounded as it looks like a blizzard throughout much of CT, RI, MA, southern ME and southeastern NH. Central NY including Syracuse can easily pick up a foot from this storm.
I love your posts, but for some reason your gfs frames are covered over by the advertisements that are located on the right side of the screen, this is cuting off the eastern half of the frame depictions..
wowwww, OMG THAT WOULD BE MY LIFE DREAM! I've always wanted to feel how much snow it was like during the blizzard of 78 and this might be my chance! This would change boston forever and would change this winter forever! Please happen!!!!!!!
