About Me
I'm the Chief Severe Weather Meteorologist. My professional experience includes working for three television stations including WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, WNKY-TV in Bowling Green and WHP-TV in Harrisburg. I have forecasted everything from large tornado outbreaks in the Ohio Valley to numerous blizzards and Nor'easters in the Mid Atlantic.
I am originally from Glassboro, New Jersey which is a suburb of Philadelphia. I graduated from Kean University in the spring of 2000 with a BS in Meteorology. My first on hands experiences in the field came when I interned at News 12 in Edison, New Jersey during the fall of '99 and then again at the National Weather Service during the summer of 2000. I credit both of my internships for preparing me. Just that little bit of hands on experience really helped me to understand not only the technical part of meteorology but the television aspect as well.
I first stepped in front of the camera when I was in Bowling Green, Kentucky. As the chief meteorolgist it was here where I really began to take a strong interest in severe weather. It's truly amazing how different the weather can be in different areas of the country. Up until the move out there I had never seen golf ball size hail before. I had never seen a funnel cloud or a wall cloud before and I was stunned with just how wicked some of the gust fronts out there can be. It made forecasting challenging and fun. But then again, the winters arent quite as harsh as what you'd get in the northeast. You'll get a couple of clippers diving across the country from time to time but not the big Nor'easters that pound the east coast. So I guess every part of the country is known for something when it comes to the weather.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I also enjoy lifting weights and running and participated in the Harrisburg half marathon during the summer of 2007. I plan on entering more halfs this year as I continue to train. I have an identical twin brother Gary who's exactly five minutes older than me. We're called mirror twins. He throws with his right arm, I throw with my left. He writes with his right arm, i write with my left. He kicks with his left foot, I kick with my right....etc. He's my other half.
"More than a forecast" is the slogan here. We give you more than just a zip code forecast. Ask or live meteorologists in the chat room about severe weather. Planning an event, write a blog or enter a forum or simply as a meteorologist LIVE.
The site is here to educate you on how we make a forecast and how YOU can make a forecast. We will be traveling to many grade schools and colleges this next year so look for us in a town near you !
Thanks again for coming to the site and enjoy !
